Northville, MI Child Photographer | My Favorite Subjects

Fall is my busiest season for photography. I'm usually out shooting most evenings so it's tough to find time to photograph my own kids! This was a totally impromptu 15 minute shoot right before sunset on a Sunday night. I bought the outfits earlier in the year in hopes of finding some spare time for pictures and finally in November the time came and thankfully it was still surprisingly warm! I started photography because I wanted to capture my kids nonstop and I've become so busy that it's rare I do so anymore! So this was a nice treat for me :)

I was lucky enough to document Rocco's first year and it's been so fun watching him grow! I just adore the way his older brother and sister love him. We always have a blast and although three kids under age five can be chaotic and we may not have a "perfect" picture, I don't think it gets any better than this!

I love these shots of little Avery with her adorable outfits, headbands, and the amazing flowers that were blooming in the fall! Her parents were so relaxed even though we were all sweating on a hot October evening and working hard to get those sweet smiles from Avery!

After a few years of sessions with this family at various parks we decided to try something different in Detroit and I couldn't be happier with the result! I love that Mom and Dad totally embraced the setting with their wardrobes too. The kids had such a blast jumping in puddles and running all around. I always encourage families to relax and have fun and these four walked away exhausted from all the playing we did! A photo session shouldn't be formal and stressful; I want it to be a great memory that I'm there to capture.

These photos show why I always book my sessions before sunset. I know it can be tricky with dinner and getting home from work, but it's worth it! On a side note it's always a ton of fun and low stress for everyone when I have the honor of photographing friends!
